The Lauderdale Lakes Aqua Skiers had its modest beginnings in the 1950s, when a group of young people who loved to ski decided they wanted to perform for their friends and neighbors. Using their own boats and fuel, they performed a single, annual show in conjunction with the Lauderdale Regatta Day in front of the Sterlingworth Motor Hotel. Their only rewards were the appreciation of their audience and a complimentary dinner at the Sterlingworth after the show.

During the 1960s the team grew, costumes were added, and the team began adding more acts, including their amazing two-high pyramid.

With the advent of ski boats came new power and performance. The Lauderdale Aqua Skiers bought its own boat and began competing in the State Show Ski Tournament in the 1980s.

The Aqua Skiers continue to grow and mature as a water ski show team, always adding and refining acts to keep pace with this exciting sport. We still love to ski and perform for our audiences.

We have also continued to grow as an organization; gaining 501c(3) status, which designates us an educational, charitable organization. We carry out many fundraisers during the year, and depend heavily on the generous support of our wonderful sponsors and audiences.
